Access and Custody

Access relates to the arrangements and provision for contact with the other parent with whom the child does not reside, whereas Custody concerns the primary residence of the child.

In general, a co-parenting arrangement will usually work well provided there is goodwill between both parents. Most parents realise the importance of civil and amicable contact between both parents and will make a co-parenting arrangement work, for the benefit of the child.
